Seed Stars is part of a series of three panels, a layered work that uses recycled bags collected during the pandemic to explore themes of value, survival, and innovation. The dimensions of the panel, 6 ft by 3 ft, command attention while allowing the material itself to tell a story rooted in both the mundane and the extraordinary.

The symbolism of the recycled bags speaks directly to consumerism and the ways in which society measures value—not only in material goods but also in ideas, health, and the systems that uphold communities. By repurposing what many might discard, the work highlights the potential of innovation, asking viewers to reconsider the small, overlooked things that sustain us.

The faces designed within the panels emerge as guardians of a metaphorical garden—a space of nurturing and cultivation. They symbolize the investment in the future, urging society to balance mental and physical health for the next generation. The colors and fruits within the work evoke a sense of growth, nourishment, and abundance while challenging conventional ideas of wealth and value.
The theme of survival is deeply intertwined with the exploration of invasive species, both literal and metaphorical. The work questions identity and displacement, giving voice to those who wander, search, and struggle to find belonging. Through the lens of storytelling, it connects the past, present, and future, offering a reflection on what it means to innovate and thrive within existing structures.

Seed Stars is a call to action. It asks how we can invest in forward-thinking ideas that support sustainability, adaptability, and awareness. By bridging materials, perspectives, and societal norms, the piece transcends its physical form, becoming a dialogue about how we collectively value the resources, people, and ideas that shape our world.
