Border, fantasizing beyond the known, fetishizing what is promised, meditates on the seductive nature of boundaries, both physical and psychological, as sites of projection, longing, and transformation. Rooted in my ongoing exploration of communication, the work examines how desire distorts the signals we send and receive, creating a language shaped as much by absence as presence. By invoking the unknown as both threat and promise, I probe the tension between expression and comprehension—what we show, what remains hidden, and what we invent to fill the gap. Here, the border becomes not just a dividing line, but a fertile threshold where form emerges from fragmentation. Through this piece, I ask: can connection exist without clarity? Can fantasy itself become a form of understanding? In fetishizing what is promised, I invite the viewer to confront their desire for meaning and the illusions that often accompany it.
